The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Council of Ministers is set to hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, during which it will review the current political and financial situation in the Kurdistan Region.

According to a press statement issued by the KRG’s Department of Media and Information, a copy of which was obtained by PUKMEDIA, the Cabinet will place particular emphasis on the Region’s financial circumstances and related developments.

The meeting is also expected to outline a roadmap for the resumption of negotiations on outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the new federal government in Baghdad.

Key Items on the Agenda

Three main topics are scheduled for discussion:

1. Formation of a Coordination Committee
Ministers will consider a proposal to establish a permanent, high-level ministerial coordination committee comprising relevant officials from both the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government. The body would aim to facilitate ongoing dialogue and streamline cooperation between the two sides.

2. The Oil File and Previous Negotiations
The Cabinet will review the final outcomes related to the oil file, including developments from recent talks with the federal government and the results of the latest round of discussions between the two parties.

3. Non-Oil Revenues and the ASYCUDA System
The meeting will also address non-oil revenues in the Kurdistan Region, with a detailed presentation expected on revenue schedules and the impact of current regional conditions. Discussions will further focus on the ASYCUDA customs system and its implications for local revenue collection and the reported decline in income.
