President Bafel: The Region's issues can only be addressed through dialogue

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Olivier Decottignies, Consul General of France in the Kurdistan Region.

They also addressed the political climate in the Kurdistan Region and the upcoming elections. President Bafel stated the PUK's viewpoint, saying: "There is no other way to address the Region's issues except through dialogue and understanding."

He added: "The national step that will lead us to peace and stability is establishing an appropriate national mechanism to resolve the issues and believing in compromise and cooperation."

The meeting also stressed strengthening bilateral relations and expanding the scope of coordination to accomplish higher interests and serve the public good.
