Iraqi President Receives Palestinian President in Bahrain

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, met with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and his accompanying delegation during the thirty-third regular session of the Arab League Summit in Bahrain.

At the meeting, they discussed the ongoing situation in the Palestinian territories and the brutal aggression against the Palestinian people, which has resulted in a humanitarian crisis. The Iraqi President reiterated Iraq's unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue, emphasising the urgent need to halt the war and provide immediate humanitarian assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip.

President Rashid emphasised that the situation in Palestine has had significant consequences for the entire region, highlighting the need to enhance collaborative efforts and provide support for the Palestinian people's struggle to attain their complete rights.

The two presidents emphasised that the Palestinian issue is currently at a critical juncture, necessitating the international community and influential entities to take on significant levels of historical, political, and humanitarian responsibility in order to seek inclusive and equitable resolutions.

President Abbas conveyed his gratitude on behalf of the government and people of Palestine for Iraq's longstanding support of the Palestinian cause. He praised Iraq's ongoing efforts and consistent aid to their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
