President Bafel Jalal Talabani chairs a high-level security meeting via video conference
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, chaired a high-level security meeting through video conference.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Ahmad Hama Karim, member of the PUK's Political Bureau; Jalal Sheikh Naji, Director of Zanyari Agency; Lieutenant Colonel Omar Salih, chief of staff of the 70th Forces; Hiwa Ahmad, Director General of the Kurdistan Region's Asayish Agency; Wahab Halabjay, Director General of the Counter-Terrorism Group; and Diyar Omar, Deputy Commander of the Kurdistan Commando Forces.
The meeting's topics included the security situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, counterterrorism measures, and the unification of the Peshmerga forces.
President Bafel stated: "It is your responsibility to uphold the region's stability and the security of its citizens; therefore, constant cooperation and joint operations between the security agencies are crucial to attaining this lofty aim and safeguarding the interests of the general public and the nation as a whole."
"The lives and peace of our beloved people are red lines, and we must stand against illegality and any attempt aimed at creating chaos and instability," he declared.
