Stran Abdullah: It is absurd to turn Erbil into a gathering place for rebels

A member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) stated that "it is absurd for the capital of the Kurdistan Region to be turned into a gathering place for individuals who rebel against the law."
"Erbil is the capital of the Kurdistan Region and has a lovely and worthy name, but it is absurd for this capital to be turned into a place to gather those who rebel against the law," said Stran Abdullah, a member of the PUK's Political Bureau, during his appearance on the Panorama show on Kurdsat TV.
"We are talking about reorganizing the Peshmerga forces, but one side is creating forces for rebels and outlaws," he added.
The viewpoints of the political parties in the area should be respected, he said, but "the influential political forces will stay and politics is not to develop alternatives for the parties, because it is not in the interest of society."
