Members of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Dr. Khasraw Gull, Rizgar Ali, Aso Mamand, and Amin Baba Sheikh, received a delegation from the Tunisian Democratic Forum for Labour and Liberties (FDTL) on Monday.

The meeting, which was attended by the PUK leaders Ahmed Askary, Sarkawt Ghafur, and the PUK representative in Sweden, Samir Amin, took place at the PUK Politburo building.

The Tunisian delegation included Dr. Khalil al-Zawiya, head of the party, Hala bin Youssef, deputy head of the party, the party secretary, Kamal Karukuri, and party officials Asmaa bin Saleh and Samia Melki.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Khasraw Gull welcomed the guest delegation, pointing out that the delegation's visit coincides with the founding anniversary of the PUK and holding the PUK Forum, which is a new model in partisan work and renewal, describing the visit as important to deepen relations with the progressive parties in the Arab world and strengthen the Kurdish-Arab brotherhood.

For his part, Dr. Khalil al-Zawiya expressed his thanks for the warm reception, pointing out that the friendship with the PUK dates back to their activities during the Arab world meetings within the Socialist International.

In another aspect of the meeting, Dr. Zawiya shed light on the political and economic situation in Tunisia, likening it to the situation in Iraq in many stages, but in Tunisia, there is a constitution on which a civil state is based and all progressive parties agree on it to solve problems and crises.

The two sides also exchanged ideas and views regarding the continuation of joint work and its importance.
