Peshmerga Minister: Kurdistan Region faces threats

The Minister of Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Shorsh Ismail, announced that there are threats to the region and its entity.

During the 16th graduation ceremony of the Military College in Slemani Governorate, the Minister of Peshmerga said, "We worked together as a cooperative team in organizing the Peshmerga forces, and we took good steps in the military reform of the Peshmerga."

Ismail asked the President of the Kurdistan Region and the Prime Minister not to establish any force for the Peshmerga outside the component of the Ministry of Peshmerga.

He continued that there are observations by the international coalition forces on the Ministry and the Peshmerga forces, and the assistance of the coalition countries continues to the Peshmerga forces.

The Minister of Peshmerga indicated, "We, with an organized force, can defend the Kurdistan Region, and we have always tried to reach an agreement with the Iraqi army."
