Two members of Asayish forces injured by IED planted under ISIS flag

Two members of the Kurdish Asayish forces were injured on Saturday, in the district of Said Sadiq-the Sulaymaniyah Governorate, after and IED planted under and an ISIS flag exploded. 

 

According to information available to PUKmedia, the explosion took place when the two men attempted to uproot the flag of the ISIS terrorist organization on one of the hills near the village of Kani Sepilka in Said Sadiq District of the Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

 

The security forces in Said Sadiq have opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of the accident, and according to the information there was another explosive device planted in the area and bombing experts were trying to defuse it.

 

ISIS seized large swaths of land in Iraq in 2014. Although the Iraqi government announced the territorial victory over ISIS in 2017, remnants of the group still continue their insurgency tactics, ambushing security forces, executing suspected informants and kidnapping, extorting money from vulnerable rural populations, IED attacks...etc.
