On the occasion of the International Day for Bicycles, which falls on the third of June of each year, cycling events were held in Sulaymaniyah, which included both sexes and for different age groups.

"The race aims to spread the culture of cycling and its health and physical importance and support the nature and environment that were affected by car smoke," Farhad Mahmoud, the race supervisor, told PUKmedia.

He added, "the young male and female competitors participated in the event, in addition to bicycle lovers ... the race was for a distance of 3 km on 60th Street and ended at Chavi Land Gate and prizes were distributed to the winning runners."

Rider Mohamed Rahim told PUKmedia, "I congratulate cyclists today, and I have been riding the bike for ten years at work and home, and now I am participating in delivering a message of love, peace and health to the community that the bicycle is a friend of man and a friend of his environment, and I ask those concerned to put a special street for bikes to keep drivers safe and not have traffic accidents.”
