KRG, Iraq sign a joint coordination mechanism regarding 2021 budget law

Iraq - Baghdad, on Tuesday a joint meeting was held between the Financial Supervision Bureau in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region prominent delegation headed by Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister. 

 

In the presence of Awat Sheikh Janab, Khaled Chawishli, Director of Financial Supervision Bureau in the Kurdistan Region, Samir Hawrami, and several other members, a meeting has been held. 

 

In the meeting, the procedures and the joint coordination mechanism were officially signed, to coordinate between the Financial Supervision Bureaus in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region.

 

Both sides stressed the joint work and cooperation along with full preparations to submit a report to the ministries of finance in the federal governments and the Kurdistan Region, intending to facilitate the implementation of the 2021 Federal Budget Law to distribute the financial rights and entitlements of the Kurdistan Region.

 

The delegation of the Kurdistan Region expressed its readiness to carry out all facilities so that the Federal Financial Control, in coordination with the Federal Board of Supreme Audit of Iraq, implements its tasks within the framework of the mechanism that was agreed upon, and according to the law, giving priority to the implementation of the legal pillars in the general budget that the oversight bureaus were assigned to it within the framework of Article 11 of the Kurdistan Region Law.
