Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, sent a message on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the founding of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Qubad Talabani said in his message, "every year we celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and we fill the media and social media with slogans and historical notes. I  want this year to talk in another way about this anniversary and to define us being PUK members from my perspective."

He added, "I have the fact that being a PUK member is courage in the face of various challenges. A party that was established to oppose the most powerful regime and then became part of the reasons for the collapse of that regime teaches us that being a PUK member means courage and facing challenges."

"Being a PUK members is to serve the masses of the people of Kurdistan without discrimination, because this party was not established for itself and did not come to the field to enrich its members and was never owned by a city, clan or family, but rather a servant of all segments of the masses of the people of Kurdistan, this party was established for freedom, democracy, right to self-determination and social justice," Talabani said.

The deputy PM said, "We must assume our responsibility to correct the course of politics and governance in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and this is not done by pointing fingers at each other through the media, but rather by feeling responsible and having an active role in managing the Kurdistan Region."

"The diplomatic relations of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan are developing day after day, but we must pay more attention to our relations with political parties, political and religious figures and other regions in Iraq," Talabani added.
