PUK Co-Leader: We take the responsibility for any decision that is in the interest of the citizens

For his part the PUK Co-Leader, Lahur Sheikh Jangi, affirmed on Saturday that the latter formed during the past month great pressure on the Shiite and Sunni parties to pass the draft federal budget bill.

 

Lahur Sheikh Jangi said in statement: "The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, during the past month, formed great pressure on the Shiite and Sunni parties to pass the budget bill for 2021, in a manner that is in the interest of the citizens of Kurdistan."

 

He added: "We take the responsibility for any decision that is in the interest of the citizens, and there is no agreement on anything other than that."

 

The Iraqi Parliament is scheduled to hold a session on Saturday to vote on the 2021 federal budget.

 

After many dialogues and meeting between Baghdad and Erbil, an agreement was finally reached between the two sides on Friday. 

 

Bakhtiar Shaways, an MP for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc in the Council of Representatives, said that according to the agreement with Baghdad, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is obligated to send 250 thousand barrels of oil per day to the Iraqi Oil Company (SOMO), pointing out that from.

 

The KRG's delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the KRG, Qubad Talabani,  has made several visits to Baghdad for dialogue before reaching an agreement.
