PUK bloc in Iraqi Parliament sends its congratulatory message to all Yazidis

PUK Bloc in the House of Representatives sent a congratulatory message to all Yazidis, on the occasion of the issuance of the Yazidi Survivors Law, confirming that the law derives from the foundations and philosophy of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan on women's rights, justice, and human rights without any religious or ethnic discrimination.

 

"One of the main attempts of our parliamentary work has happily bore fruit, which is the issuance of the Yazidi Girls and Women Compensation Law," the bloc said in a statement today, Tuesday.

 

From the statement, "Since the beginning of the Shengal disaster in August 2014, the Patriotic Union bloc in the third and fourth session of the House of Representatives has been the main supporter and advocate for the promulgation of the law, and this derives from the foundations and philosophy of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan regarding women's rights, justice, and human rights without any religious or ethnic discrimination. ".

 

The statement added, "This law, which will be a factor in restoring part of the moral and material rights of the survivors of the Yazidi  Kurds. We believe that what is more important than the law is its application."

 

Therefore, we call on the concerned authorities, after the law has been ratified by the President of the Republic and officially published, to implement it as soon as possible.

 

It is worth noting that we thank all the personalities and parties who played a role in the issuance of the Yazidi Women Survivors Law and supported the law, especially the esteemed President of the Republic, the Speaker of Parliament, parliamentary blocs, and activists in women's organizations and civil society.
