Kurdish couple turn their home into an art station

A Kurdish woman from the Iranian-Kurdish city of Sanandaj along with her husband have turned their home into an art station after graduating from the university.

 

Both Shadi Gholami, 28 years, and her husband Sirwan have returned to their village after finishing university at the city and have living there for two years eversince. Their home is in the Tayna village near Kamyaran region in the Sanandaj city. 

 

Shadi works a music teacher has a musical group which includes a number of women and girls from her village who play the Daf (Erebane) instrument, where she gives them music lessons at her home.

 

Their village has become famous due to what this couple have done. Cultural festivals take place at their village annually and even local and foreign tourists visit their village to see what this beautiful couple is doing.

 

The Daf, is a large Kurdish and Persian frame drum used in popular and classical music. It is also used in religious ceremonies among Kurds. The Daf is considered the national musical instrument of Pakistan.
