Iraqi president condemns suicide attacks of Baghdad's Tayaran Square

The Iraqi president, Barham Salih on Thursday condemned the suicide attacks earlier today in Baghdad's Tayaran Square.
"The two terrorist explosions against the safe citizens of Baghdad, at this time, confirms the endeavor of dark groups to target the great national needs; And the aspirations of our people for a peaceful future," Salih wrote in a tweet.
"We stand firmly against these rogue attempts to destabilize our country,"
"We ask God to provide mercy to the victims and to heal the wounded," the president added.
Suicide attacks killed thirteen people and injured 28 in Baghdad's Tayaran Square, spokesperson of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, Khaled Al-Muhanna said earlier on Thursday.
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, said that a double terrorist attack by two suicide bombers blew themselves up when the security forces pursued them in the Bab al-Sharqi district in Baghdad on Thursday morning.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
