7 Kurdish scientists among world's top scientists

According to a research by American Standford University, 7 Kurdish scientists are among world top scientist, the ILNA news agency said on Monday.

 

The Stanford University, ranked second in list of top universities of the world, has published name of 161,000 scientists around the globe in the PLOS journal and the list includes 7 Iranian-Kurdish scientists.  

 

According to ILNA news agency, Rahmat Sadeghi, President of Kurdistan University in the Kurdish-Iranian Sanandij city, said in a statement: In this list, Mohammad Reza Setareh in the field of physics, Hassan Biorani in the field of electrical engineering, Rahmat Sadeghi in the field of chemistry, Abdullah Salimi in the field of chemistry, Hemin Shahabi in the field of GIS Remote Sensing, Parham Moradi in the field of Computer engineering and Ghobad Shafiei in the field of electrical engineering were among the top 2% of scientists in the world based on data from the Scopus database in 2019.

 

All of the above names are Iranian Kurds

 

Kurdistan University, located in the Kurdish city of Sanandaj (capital of Kurdistan province in Iran), is currently one of the comprehensive and top universities in the national, regional and international arenas, with nearly 400 faculty members, more than 11,000 students, several leading research centers.
