Iraqi National Security Adviser Pays Tribute at Mam Jalal’s Mausoleum During Official Visit

Iraqi National Security Adviser visits the mausoleum of the late President Mam Jalal.

Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji, along with his accompanying delegation, visited the mausoleum of the late President Mam Jalal in Sulaymaniyah on Thursday.

In a press statement reported by PUKMEDIA, al-Araji said: “Sulaymaniyah is a city that holds a special place in our hearts, and we share a long history of struggle with it. We are visiting Sulaymaniyah today to reinforce our shared historical struggle and strengthen our ties.”

He added: “President Mam Jalal had a long and distinguished record of struggle. When he assumed the presidency of the Republic, he succeeded in bringing together various political forces and overcoming crises. He was a major political figure who deserves the highest praise and appreciation.”

He further noted: “We will meet today with the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to discuss a number of joint security issues, as well as the current situation.”

The National Security Adviser also wrote the following in the memorial book at President Mam Jalal’s mausoleum:

“With great pride and honour, we have visited the great leader Mam Jalal, a figure with a long and distinguished history of struggle against injustice and tyranny. After 2003, he became President of the Republic of Iraq. May God have mercy on him, he was known for his ability to unite different factions and embrace others. He made significant efforts to raise Iraq’s profile on the international stage and restore it to its rightful standing.

May God have mercy on Leader Mam Jalal, and glory and eternity to all the martyrs.”
