PUK's 5th Congress Approves Party's By-Law

After three days of arduous debate, the members present formally ratified the entirety of the articles in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) By-Law on the fifth day of the PUK's 5th Congress.
The 68-article PUK By-Law was ratified on October 1, 2023, after receiving the unanimous approval of the congress members.
Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa was elected chairman of the PUK's Supreme Council for Protecting Political Interests.
Talar Latif, the PUK's 5th Congress spokesman, previously told PUKMEDIA that the leadership will be selected once all by-law articles are approved.
On September 27, 2023, the PUK held its fifth congress in Sulaymaniyah. Due to unfinished proceedings, the original three-day duration of the congress was extended to five days.
