The operation.
The General Directorate of Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG), Peshmerga, and the Iraqi Army conducted a joint operation to locate the remnants of the Islamic State (ISIS) and their hiding places.
On Saturday, May 27, 2023, the CTG, Peshmerga, and the Iraqi army conducted a joint operation in the districts between Khurmatu district and Dawe area in Salah ad Din governorate designated as having security breaches.
The activities of armed groups in areas with a security void have become a threat to the Iraqi armed forces and the residents of these areas. The joint operation aims to eliminate and reduce the remnants of these groups, particularly ISIS.
