President Bafel emphasizes a national agreement between Erbil-Baghdad

Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Judge Faiq Zidan, the Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, in Baghdad.
Both sides referred to the Constitution as the foundation for addressing the disputes between Erbil and Baghdad during the meeting, which emphasized the judiciary's strengthening, independence of the courts, and protection of human rights.
President Bafel referred to a final, national agreement between Erbil and Baghdad and requested the Supreme Judicial Council to play a beneficial and positive role in resolving the issues in a way that protects the rights of all parties.
President Bafel and Maliki prioritize the well-being of citizens
President Bafel met with Nuri al-Maliki, the leader of the State of Law Coalition, in Baghdad.
Khalid Shwani, a member of PUK's Politburo, participated in the meeting, where the general state of the country and the most recent government initiatives to enhance citizens' quality of life and strengthen the nation's economic infrastructure was reviewed.
They placed a strong emphasis on implementing and supporting the government's program in order to ensure that every citizen could live decently, steadily, and without discrimination.
The issues facing Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region were also discussed, as well as the ongoing negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement and ending the disputes.
Both parties emphasized the importance of communication and the participation of all forces and parties in order to establish an agreement and begin a new political era where everyone can lead the nation toward stability and prosperity.
President Bafel stresses the preservation of all parties' constitutional rights
President Bafel met with Qais al-Khazali, Secretary-General of the League of the Righteous (Khazali Network), in Baghdad.
The meeting focused on the continuation of national efforts for the government program's success and the implementation of the parties' agreements within the framework of the State Administration Alliance in order to overcome obstacles while also discussing the most recent developments and political changes.
President Bafel reaffirmed the PUK's commitment to continuing the national and responsible dialogue between the parties, particularly the issues relating to the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, in order to find a permanent solution and preserve the constitutional rights of all parties.
President Bafel: Our past efforts have yielded positive results
President Bafel met with Falih al-Fayyadh, the Chairman of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), in Baghdad.
The discussion focused on furthering collaboration between the security forces of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in order to maintain stability in the region, as well as continuous coordination and support for the government's program and the political and security situation in the country.
The accomplishments of military and intelligence coordination, as well as the strengthening of security institutions, were highlighted by President Bafel, who said: "We must fight terrorism with the same spirit and with a national policy in the future," noting that past efforts to protect people's lives had positive and pleasing results.
In addition, President Bafel extended his appreciation to the PMF for the humanitarian aid it has provided to those impacted by the earthquake in Syria.
