The GroenLinks Party of the Netherlands applauds Bafel Jalal Talabani's, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), initiative to plant one million trees in the Kurdistan Region.

A delegation of the PUK consisting of Sarkawt Mohammed Ghafur, Head of the Foreign Relations Board and Bakhtyar Bakir, Representative of the PUK in the Netherlands, met with the Deputy leader of the Dutch GroenLinks Party.

At the meeting, it was determined to continue the partnership between the PUK and the Green Left Party, conduct bilateral visits, and engage in each other's broad activities.

The Deputy Leader of the Dutch GroenLinks Party applauded and supported the PUK's initiative to plant one million trees, deemed this project vital, and expressed hope that it would continue.

The PUK delegation emphasized the necessity of assisting the left and progressive forces in the divided and oppressed nations and urged the other side to cooperate and provide support in order to fulfill unrealized mutual goals and avert threats to the region.

GroenLinks, often known as the Green Left Party, is a Dutch political party associated with the progressive left. It was formed in 1990 when the PPR, PSP, CPN, and EVP parties merged.
