Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmad, the first lady of Iraq, emphasizes the significance of women in politics and government, saying that they can assume positions of authority and overcome barriers.

The Iraqi First Lady held separate meetings at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad on Monday, December 5th, with female lawmakers from Kurdish political parties and Taif Sami, the country's finance minister.

"The role and influence of women are important in all spheres of power and decision-making, and it is a pleasure to have a large number of women MPs in Kurdistani factions," Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmad said during her meeting with Kurdish female MPs, which was attended by Rabiha Hamad, a member of the Leadership Council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. She also urged them to have a unified position on the national issues and the demands of Kurds and Kurdish women.
