U.S. Embassy calls on political parties to hold national dialogue

On Tuesday, the United States expressed its support for the dialogue initiative launched by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

U.S. Embassy in Baghdad stated, "The U.S. supports recent calls urging all parties to participate in a constructive national dialogue that can lead to the easing of current tensions."

"We reaffirm our support for peaceful protest, and we encourage all parties to adhere to nonviolence and the rule of law in exercising their constitutional rights," the Embassy added.

On Monday, Kadhimi called on political parties to take legal and national responsibility and hold national dialogue while calling on protestors to cooperate with security forces and respect state institutions. read more
