Former Secretary of Kurdistan Communist Party passed away

On Thursday, Karim Ahmed, the former secretary of the Kurdistan Communist Party, passed away at 100 in Erbil Governorate.

Karim Ahmed was born in 1922 in the village of "Baqrta" in the Koya town and turned 100 years old on July 1st, 2022. Ahmed died today, Thursday, in the city of Erbil.

In his political life, Karim Ahmed became involved in politics at an early age and was imprisoned several times. Besides holding many major positions within the Communist Party of Iraq, he became the secretary of the party but lost the position for two years (1953-1955). He also became the secretary of the Communist Party of Kurdistan.

The funeral of Karim Ahmed is scheduled to be carried out this evening to his final resting place.
