DPM Talabani to Kuwait Ambassador: Let's Strengthen Trade Relations

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, and Tariq Abdullah al-Faraj, Ambassador of Kuwait to Iraq,

Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, held a meeting with Tariq Abdullah al-Faraj, the Ambassador of Kuwait to Iraq, to address several matters of shared importance.

Osman Daoud Al-Daoud, the Consul General of Kuwait in the Kurdistan Region, and Daban Shadala, the Deputy Head of the Foreign Relations Office of the Kurdistan Region, also attended the meeting which was held in Erbil on Monday, May 20, 2024. Both parties conveyed their condolences and expressed their worry on the demise of the Iranian president and his associates.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that both Kuwait and the Kurdistan Region had significant hardships during the previous Iraqi regime. Regarding ties, he said: "Our current relations are at a highly satisfactory level and emphasised the need to enhance them in several areas, particularly in the realm of trade."
 
Both parties engaged in a discussion regarding the significance of education, and Qubad Talabani expressed gratitude to Kuwait for its support in enhancing the education sector in the Kurdistan Region.

In addition, they deliberated on the necessity of achieving equitable progress in the Kurdistan Region. They reached a consensus on the importance of promoting investment in the cities and towns of Kurdistan to attract investors.
