President Bafel, Ammar al-Hakim discuss Iraq’s political process

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met in Baghdad with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National Wisdom Movement.

During the meeting, which was attended by Darbaz Kosrat Rasoul, administrator of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)'s Political Bureau, Rizgar Haji Hama, member of PUK's Political Bureau, and Faisal Karim Khan Bradosti, they discussed the steps to resolve crises and political obstacles, unify efforts for the formation of the new Iraqi government and the completion of constitutional steps. 

President Bafel reiterates the commitment of the PUK to preparing the ground for the start of constructive dialogues and said that "participation of all political parties in the government is an important factor to achieve stability and it is our responsibility to work together to provide a bright future."

For his part, Ammar al-Hakim highlighted the position and efforts of President Bafel in bringing the political parties closer in order to overcome this stage and form a government and said that "the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is an important and influential party and history documented this because of its prominent role in confronting dictatorship and its permanent presence in political forums."

He added, "the late President Mam Jalal has been able to gather all Iraqis under his wise policy and led Iraq to a new stage of unity and coexistence. Therefore, we need the same view of politics and we are sure that the PUK will continue this path."
