Kurdish Karate players in UAE Karate World Championship

Iraq's National Karate Team for men is currently in Dubai to participate in the 25th Karate World Championship, which will begin on Monday.

Iraq's team for Karate kata includes 3 Kurdish players, Binar Mustafa, Yusuf Salam, Pzhar Mahdi, and Binar Mustafa.

While for the Kumite Karate, five players will participate, most of whom are Kurds, Muhammad Mahmud, Shvan Osman, and Mabast Fayaq.

There are also three Iraqi referees are participating, one of which is a Kurd.

For the first time in the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates Dubai will host the 25th Karate World Championship 2020.

Kumite is one of the three main sections of karate training, along with kata and kihon. Kumite is the part of karate in which a person trains against an adversary, it was used for street fighting too, while Kata is a Japanese word describing detailed patterns of movements practiced either solo or in pairs. Karate kata is executed as a specified series of a variety of moves, with stepping and turning, while attempting to maintain perfect form.
