The Arab Muay Thai Federation officially approved Iraq's hosting of the International Elite Championship at the beginning of August.
The head of the Iraqi Central Muay Thai Federation, Mustafa Jabbar Alak, said in a statement that several Arab and foreign countries announced their agreement to participate in the tournament, in the presence of a representative from the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (lFMA).
"Iraq has the ability to host international events and is determined to make the tournament a success in all fields," he said.
He also revealed that the Iraq championship for regional teams was a final rehearsal to embrace the international carnival.
According to Alak, the Elite Championship will be sponsored by the Arab Federation, while the Iraqi Federation will bear the logistical and administrative matters that contribute to the success of the tournament.
