Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received a congratulatory message from President Asif Ali Zardari of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of assuming the office of President of the Republic. In his message, President Zardari reaffirmed the strength of the longstanding friendship between the two countries and Pakistan's commitment to further advancing bilateral cooperation across a broad range of fields.
The message was delivered during the President's meeting with a high-level Pakistani delegation at Baghdad Palace, led by the Pakistani President's Special Envoy, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla. The envoy conveyed President Zardari's greetings and sincere wishes for President Amedi's success in fulfilling his national responsibilities, along with his hopes for continued progress and prosperity for Iraq and its people. He also extended an official invitation from President Zardari for President Amedi to visit the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
President Amedi expressed his appreciation to President Zardari for the congratulatory message and the warm sentiments it conveyed, noting that they reflected the depth of the friendship and the enduring partnership between Iraq and Pakistan. He emphasised the importance of building on the strong foundations of bilateral relations by further strengthening cooperation in ways that serve the shared interests of both countries.
The President also reaffirmed Iraq's commitment to expanding its partnership with Pakistan and enhancing coordination on issues of mutual interest, in support of regional security, stability, and shared prosperity.
