The first day of Eid al-Adha has brought a festive atmosphere across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as families gather to celebrate one of the most significant occasions in the Islamic calendar.

Since the early hours of the morning, citizens have participated in Eid prayers, family visits, and traditional celebrations, while markets, restaurants, parks, and tourist destinations have witnessed increased activity. Many families are also carrying out the ritual of sacrifice, reflecting the spiritual and humanitarian values associated with the occasion.

Across cities and towns, the holiday has created a sense of unity and joy, with people exchanging greetings and gathering with relatives and friends. Authorities have also implemented service and security plans to accommodate the rise in movement and public gatherings during the Eid holiday.

Eid al-Adha symbolises sacrifice, compassion, and solidarity, and remains an important opportunity for strengthening social ties and supporting those in need.
