Qubad Talabani’s meeting with local athletes in Kirkuk.

During his visit to Kirkuk, Qubad Talabani, Supervisor of the Bureau of President Mam Jalal Secretariat, met with a number of athletes and artists in the city.

After hearing their concerns and demands, he reaffirmed both his and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s (PUK) commitment to developing sports infrastructure in Kirkuk, with a particular focus on supporting women’s sports.

He stated that the PUK has always taken pride in promoting coexistence in Kirkuk and has consistently rejected the marginalisation of any component of the city’s communities.

Talabani also highlighted the vital role of art and artists in reinforcing unity and brotherhood among Kirkuk’s diverse communities, expressing the PUK’s full support for improving the living conditions of artists in the city.

He further outlined the PUK’s programme aimed at supporting artists, stressing his commitment to working seriously towards creating a suitable environment for the growth and advancement of art in Kirkuk.
