President Amedi Reaffirms Iraq’s Support for Palestine in Meeting with Ambassador

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received Samar Awadallah, the Ambassador of Palestine to Iraq.

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received Samar Awadallah, the Ambassador of Palestine to Iraq, and her accompanying delegation at Salam Palace in Baghdad on Monday, 4 May 2026.

During the meeting, the delegation congratulated the President on assuming office and wished him success in his new duties.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and Palestine. President Amedi reiterated Iraq’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, stressing the importance of expanding cooperation across various fields in the interests of both countries.

For her part, Ambassador Awadallah expressed her appreciation for Iraq’s continued support for Palestine, reaffirming her country’s commitment to deepening ties with Iraq in a way that further strengthens the fraternal relations between the two peoples.
