Rebwar Taha has announced the start of his duties as First Deputy Governor of Kirkuk, stating: “We will rebuild Kirkuk and be true guardians of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence among all its communities.”
Rebwar Taha announced on his official Facebook page that he had formally begun his role as First Deputy Governor of Kirkuk, noting: “For the sake of Kirkuk and its loyal people, I begin my duties today, and I remain committed to completing the path of service we started together.”
He added: “We will rebuild Kirkuk and remain the true protectors of brotherhood and coexistence among all its communities. I will never forget your tears.”
Taha served for one year and eight months as Governor of Kirkuk, during which he delivered a range of public service projects across the province without discrimination. Despite operating with significantly limited financial resources—reportedly less than 10% of the budgets available to previous administrations—he implemented several service projects across Kirkuk’s districts.
During his tenure as both Governor and head of the provincial security committee, he also worked to improve stability in the province and contributed to the disruption of a number of terrorist attempts.
