The Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Qubad Talabani, has stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation in e-governance and artificial intelligence to improve public services and enhance institutional efficiency in the Region.
During his meeting with the Greek Minister for Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, Dimitris Papastergiou, he said discussions centred on establishing a direct line of communication between experts from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and their Greek counterparts. The goal is to exchange expertise, support the digital transformation of government institutions, and make greater use of AI in delivering public services.
He noted that over the past decade, the KRG has developed a modern e-governance infrastructure. The current focus, he added, is on integrating existing digital systems — including the biometric database and the government services portal — with artificial intelligence technologies.
Qubad Talabani further stated that this approach will help streamline administrative processes, improve transparency, and speed up service delivery, aligning the Region with global advances in digital governance and smart transformation.
