The Presidency of the Republic issued a statement on the occasion of the Yazidi New Year, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding their rights.
The statement reads as follows:
On the occasion of the Yazidi New Year, we extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to our Yazidi people in Iraq and across the world, wishing them a celebration filled with goodness, peace, and security.
This ancient occasion reflects the deep historical roots of our country and highlights the rich cultural and religious diversity that characterises our nation, serving as a source of strength and unity for its people.
As we remember on this occasion the tragedies and suffering endured by the Yazidis, we reaffirm our steadfast commitment to protecting their rights, preserving their dignity, working diligently to ensure justice for the victims, and consolidating the values of justice and peaceful coexistence among all components of our society.
May our Yazidi people be well every year, and we pray that this occasion brings continued goodness and stability to Iraq.
