Bakhtyar Mohammed Sidiq Receives US Military Liaison and Consulate Officials.

On 3 February 2026, Staff Major General Bakhtyar Mohammed Sidiq, Secretary General of the Ministry of Peshmerga, received Colonel Deck Pilweck, Head of the United States Military Liaison Iraq Ground Forces (USMLIGP-I), along with the Political Attaché at the US Consulate General.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the regional situation and the progress of the Ministry of Peshmerga’s reform programme. They also stressed the importance of fully implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on Peshmerga reform between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the US-led coalition, which aims to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance security cooperation.
