Iraqi President, Azerbaijani Minister Discuss Regional Stability

Iraqi President welcomes Azerbaijani Foreign Minister.

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr Jeyhun Bayramov, and his accompanying delegation at the Baghdad Palace on Wednesday, 7 May 2025, in the presence of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.

At the outset of the meeting, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of the President of Azerbaijan, Mr Ilham Aliyev, to the President. In return, His Excellency extended his own greetings to the President of Azerbaijan, along with his best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the Azerbaijani people.

President Rashid underlined the significance of the relationship between the two friendly nations, founded on mutual understanding and respect, and stressed the importance of expanding avenues of cooperation through joint projects and partnerships that serve their shared interests.

For his part, Mr Bayramov affirmed his country’s commitment to establishing a strong and effective partnership with Iraq across a range of sectors, contributing to the deepening of bilateral relations. He also commended Iraq’s positive progress and its constructive role in fostering security and stability in the region and beyond.
