PUK Spokesperson Urges UNAMI to Help Ensure Success of Upcoming Elections

Saadi Ahmed Pire, the Spokesperson for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, met with a delegation from United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), which included Francesc Revuelto-Lanao, the Head of UNAMI's Regional Office in Erbil, Munyaradzi Motsi, the Head of UNAMI's Political Affairs Department in the Kurdistan Region, and Riccardo Ceva and Aziz Barznji, UNAMI's Political Advisors.
Lanao has indicated their preparedness to collaborate and provide support for the smooth functioning of the electoral process. He also hoped that the election campaign would occur without any issues. Pire, for his part, highlighted the important role and impact of UNAMI, particularly in previous elections in the Kurdistan Region that consistently helped with providing observers and trainers, contributing to the effective and successful execution of the electoral process.
Pire expressed the hope for UNAMI to take charge of coordinating and supporting all parties involved in the election process, by offering precise direction and information on how to carry out an election that is both fair and transparent.
