IHEC Numbers 71 Lists, Candidates

A draw was conducted to assign numbers to the 71 lists, coalitions, and candidates participating in the parliamentary elections in Kurdistan.

The head of the Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), Hakim Omar Ahmad, stated during the draw event that the sixth term of parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region will be conducted with utmost professionalism and impartiality.

"The draw for the polling station employees will take place tomorrow, and various election-related events will be held in Erbil this week," he stated.

In the previous draw held on April 8, 2024, the IHEC assigned numbers to the coalitions, lists, and candidates participating in the Kurdistan parliamentary elections. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), an independent party, was assigned the number 129. The PUK has a total of 172 candidates running in the election, with 72 in Sulaymaniyah, 64 in Erbil, 30 in Duhok, and 6 in Halabja.
