The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) conducted a draw to assign numbers to coalitions, parties, and independent candidates. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is running in the elections under the number 129.

The IHEC has initiated a draw to determine the number of coalitions, parties, and independent candidates participating in the sixth round of parliamentary elections, with numbers ranging from 101 to 169.

Various media channels broadcast the draw live. The draw assigned the PUK the number 129 to participate in the Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

Rizgar Haji Hama, Head of the Elections Bureau of the PUK, told PUKMEDIA: "The PUK intends to partake in the upcoming parliamentary elections under no. 129. As per the IHEC's timetable, we are currently making arrangements for the following phases of the elections."

"The PUK prioritizes a transparent and fair election on June 10, 2024. To achieve this objective, the party is actively making preparations for the upcoming election campaign," he added.

On June 10th, 2024, Kurdistan will hold its parliamentary elections. The electoral process is divided into four constituencies: Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, and Halabja. A total of 2 coalitions, 10 parties, and 587 independent candidates are competing in the elections.
