During a meeting with Alina Romanowski, the United States (U.S.) Ambassador to Iraq on Sunday, April 7, 2024, President Bafel stated that the primary objective of the PUK from the beginning was to safeguard the salaries of the employees in the Kurdistan Region and prevent their entanglement in political disputes which eventually, through the combined efforts of the Iraqi prime minister, the Federal Court, and the allies of the Kurds, this issue was effectively resolved.

"Our foremost objective is to guarantee a satisfactory and dignified life for our citizens, and we will exert every possible effort to achieve this goal," he stated. "We expect that all individuals will collaborate with a unified mindset and strive towards achieving the highest goals."
