Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, President of the Republic of Iraq, met with Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Iraq, Nasir Mammadov, on Wednesday at Baghdad Palace.
They discussed various ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Azerbaijan in political, economic, cultural, and commercial areas, as well as tourism.
President Rashid emphasized the importance of facilitating the process of granting all Iraqi citizens from all governorates entry visas to Azerbaijan, particularly Iraqis from Sulaymaniyah, who have had difficulty obtaining visas to visit Azerbaijan.
The ambassador stated that Azerbaijan is committed to maintaining and developing relations with Iraq. During President Rashid's visit to Azerbaijan, significant agreements and memoranda were signed, laying the groundwork for comprehensive cooperation and the formation of partnerships that will benefit both countries, Ambassador Mammadov noted.
A direct flight line between Baku and Sulaymaniyah will be established soon, and Ambassador Mammadov agreed on the importance of issuing visas to all Iraqi citizens, including those from Sulaymaniyah.
