Qubad Talabani, Canadian Ambassador, Emphasize the Need for Holding Elections on Time

Kurdistan Region's Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani received Canadian Ambassador to Iraq Kathy Bunka and discussed several issues of mutual interest.
During the Erbil meeting, which Tammy Ames, Head of the Office of the Canadian Embassy in Erbil, attended, the political and economic situation in Iraq and methods for resolving the disputes between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region were discussed. A transparent and equitable election process for the provincial councils in Iraq was a goal shared by both parties.
A consensus was reached among all parties concerned that the upcoming parliamentary elections in Kurdistan ought to take place on the date designated by the presidency of the Kurdistan Region.
