2023, Shalaw Kosrat Rasul welcomed Futoshi Matsumoto, the Japanese ambassador
to Iraq, in Sulaymaniyah.
They talked about the state of affairs in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, in
addition to their relations and negotiations.
The Kurdistan parliamentary elections were another topic of discussion during
the meeting. Shalaw Kosrat Rasul presented the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's (PUK) views and highlighted the significance of holding free and fair elections.
