Parliament presidency calls for expediting elections preparations

The Kurdistan Parliament's presidency urged all political groups and factions to reach an agreement in order to expedite the election preparation process.
 
According to a statement issued by the parliament's presidency, they are dedicated to creating the political and legal framework required to hold the Kurdistan Parliament's sixth-term elections on time.
 
The statement said: "We call on all parties and factions to find a consensus in order to hasten the process of preparing for this year's elections."
 
"We appreciate the progress of the procedures and approaches for preparing a joint draft for the modification of the election legislation while fully supporting the talks process between the factions and political parties," the statement added.
 
The Kurdistan Parliament will convene on March 15, 2023, to discuss preparations and form a committee to reactivate the electoral commission.
