Iraqi President on Uprising Anniversary: We proudly commemorate the Kurdish people's sacrifices

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid commemorated the anniversary of the Kurdish uprising that began in Ranya on March 5, 1991.

President Rashid made the following statement:

On the anniversary of the beginning of our people's uprising in the cities and villages of Iraqi Kurdistan in 1991, we proudly commemorate the great sacrifices made by the Kurdish people in their fight against dictatorship to achieve security, stability, and freedom for the Kurdish people.

On this occasion, the mountains of Kurdistan were crowned with the flag of freedom. Today, we honor the martyrs who fought against the tyranny of dictatorship and paved the way for the establishment of democracy.

Glory and eternal life to the heroic martyrs, and respect and honor to their noble families.
Praise and respect to all those whose bravery illuminated the path to a free, glorious, and fair future.
