US State Department expresses deep concern about ISIS attacks

On Saturday, the US State Department renewed its support for the Iraqi security forces and the Peshmerga.

State Department spokesman Ned Price said that his country expresses "deep concern" about the continued escalation of attacks by ISIS terrorist organization throughout Iraq.

He expressed Washington's condolences to the families of the victims and the wounded in the attack in the Makhmur District, which killed 7 Peshmerga members and three Kurdish civilians.

The statement reiterated Washington's commitment to supporting the Iraqi security forces, including the Peshmerga forces.

At dawn on Friday, an attack by ISIS remnants in Makhmur district resulted in the death of at least 13 people, three of one family and ten members of the Peshmerga forces.
