Greener Sulaymaniyah campaign begins by orders from Qubad Talabani

In continuation of implementing Qubad Talabani's orders, another greening campaign began in Sulaymaniyah on Monday.
The campaign includes greening the mid-lanes of the Circle Malik Mahmud Street in Sulaymaniyah.
"On the recommendation of Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, we launched the Greener Sulaymaniyah campaign to further green mid-lanes of Circle Malik Mahmud Street," said Bahroz Salar, head of the Sulaymaniyah Municipality's Greening Board.
"The plants selected can withstand all kinds of weathers... We want to compensate for the damage that have done in the past," he added.
The Deputy PM has recently issued some decisions in a move to make reforms and reorganize the administration in the city of Sulayamaniyah.
This step is considered an important beginning for reform, the rule of law, and the protection of public rights from corruption.
The decisions included a reconstruction campaign to restore and beautify Sulaymaniyah city which has begun a few days ago, as well as seizing vehicles with no registration papers along with other reforms. read more
The campaign also included deploying Sulaymaniyah Asayish forces at all official and unofficial border crossings surrounding Garmian and Sulaymaniyah. The decision aims to confront smugglers, violators of the law, and those who violate the instructions and decisions issued by the KRG. read more
