Kurdistan Region - Erbil, Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region Qubad Talabani supervised an extensive meeting on the high rate of murder, suicide, and violence cases against women in the Kurdistan Region.

 

During the meeting, Qubad Talabani emphasized that; swift steps must be taken to prevent the increase in cases of femicide and suicide, and through various media channels, an attempt to publish instructions and family awareness to find a suitable solution to this social problem.

 

Talabani decided, to take swift measures in the implementation of arrest warrants for those accused of cases of violence against women, with the opening of training courses for officers on awareness of the principles of gender equality and gender in general. 

 

It was decided to prevent the transfer of cases until the completion of consultations with the special centers and sort the cases according to gender and privacy, as well as securing the necessary budget and a suitable building for this purpose.

 

It was also decided during the meeting to prepare the Supreme Council for Women a special strategy to prevent violence against women by taking the opinion of the ministries and parties concerned so that the government.

 

This to put it into effect and establish a board to follow up on that and adhere to the code of honor between the media and organizations with an emphasis on preventing the violation of ministerial instructions and the internal and international professional principles of covering files Women. It was also emphasized that clerics have a role in supporting the fight against suicide and the killing of women in religious sermons.
