Sulaymaniyah: Holding Women's Cultural Forum

The "VIM" center in the city of Sulaymaniyah has held Women's Cultural Forum to display the products of Kurdish women and highlight their role in the development of society.

 

A debate was also held between four successful women which included Ms. Amal Jalal, the head of Kurdistan Region's Tourism Board, and Shanaz Jamal, an expert in the field of design and culture, and the two leading female presenters of Kurdsat, Srwa and Bakhcha.

 

Awat Hussamadin, a participant in the Cultural Forum, expressed joy that this forum was held.

 

"I am happy to participate in this cultural forum, which reflects the importance of women at the level of Iraq in general and Kurdistan in particular," she said.

 

The forum included displaying portraits and handicrafts of women who have had an active role in the advancement of Kurdish society.

 

Another part of the forum included dialogues on the role of women in society and ways to support their abilities.

 

"Our discussion today is about supporting women at all levels that simulate society," Awat said, stressing on giving women a role in developing true democracy in our region and giving them a greater opportunity to represent their components during political and societal decision-making positions.

 

Participants of the event showed their paintings and handicrafts in folkloric clothes, in the presence of a group of renowned female figures who had a role in society.
